We believe with all our heart that the Bible is our heavenly Father’s written word to us. We believe he was capable of keeping his word free of man’s thoughts and ideas. He put into his word what he wanted to say and left out what he didn't’. 2 Pet. 1:20-2:2 2 Tim. 3:12-17
We believe there is only one God. There is not a Baptist, Jewish or Muslim God. There is only ONE GOD! While there is only one God, we believe he has chosen to reveal himself to us not only as the Father, but as Jesus his son in human form and also as a personal confident and friend whom the Bible calls the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit's primary funtion is to tell us of the Father's and how to live in harmony with his son, Jesus who loved us so much, that he took our sins as his very own and died that we might live forever in the presence of the Father.
We believe and do know that from a child we have screamed, stomped our feet and acted like the little heathens that we were. Try as we could, we could not change our ugly behavior. The older we got, the worse we acted and nothing we could ever do would change that fact.
We believe that our heavenly father, motivated by his love for us, came to earth to provide a way for us to be at peace with him. This he did in the form of Jesus his son, Who was born, lived, died, and whose body was resurrected after three days through the power of God’s own Spirit, while Jesus was still on this earth.
We believe, that the blood of Jesus, yes, you heard it right, the blood of Jesus, gory as it sounds, was the payment which made possible for us to be at peace again with our heavenly Father. When we could not meet the demands of the indictment that was against us, he paid the ultimate price by giving his life in exchange for our pardon and freedom.
We believe, when we trust Jesus and the work that he did while on earth, and now as the authority in my life and as I cheerfully submit to him, He does for me, what I could not do for myself. He is the avenue of peace between us and our heavenly Father. Because of what he has done, I now experience forgiveness for my past sins and mistakes and look to the future with hope
We believe that Jesus was nailed to an old Roman cross, and then his body taken down and buried for three days. Early in the morning of the third day, the Spirit of our heavenly Father, entered that tomb and raised to life, the cold, lifeless body of Jesus. Later, he ascended upward into heaven in plain sight of his disciples and has is now seated at the right side of our heavenly Father. From that place of authority, he is now our personal representative to the courts of heaven. Everything in relation to us must pass before him for our eternal destiny is in his hands. We are glad that he acts in our behalf, for he has our best interest at heart.
We believe that when one is truly sorry for the way they have acted and lived, they now have the power to change the old way of living to the new way. Jesus did more that just free us form the past life, he has also empowered us to live life the new life right here and now! We live different now because we are different. Changed people live changed lives! Matthew 7:18
We believe that the teachings Jesus taught from Matthew, chapters five, six and seven, often referred to as the “Sermon on the mount”, since it was a sermon he gave while they while they were all gathered on the mountain side, is more that just some ideals for us to try and live up to. It is the new way we will now live since we have been changed. This is the awesome things Jesus modeled when he live on the earth. The more we become like him, the more of his traits we will live. We become like those we hang around. Hanging around Jesus will make us look and act like him.
We believe the church, literally the “called out” ones is made up of all those who have come to God in faith and have met the conditions he has set forth. Having done so, we establish here and now, his spiritual kingdom in this world. We are the visible people of and invisible spiritual kingdom. I Cor. 12:27; Eph. 1:22, 23
We believe and practice what we call believers baptism. As Jesus, our perfect example, went down into the water and was baptized, he says all those who would desire to be followers of his must also be baptized. This gives a clear testimony to those looking on, we publicly and clearly identify with him. We also believe that both the pouring of the water on the head or being placed under the water, (immersion) are both acceptable forms with which to be baptized. Both portray beautifully, the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
We do believe that as time goes on, great apostasy or of people falling away spiritual will take place. This is characteristic of the last days Jesus has told us about. Many false teacher will go forth and deceive those who are spiritual lazy. I John, 2 Timothy 3
We further believe, that while the last days will be times of great spiritual darkness, Jesus is coming back for a pure church, free from the filth and dirt of this world. She will not be a weak church, she will be great and strong.
